Green Bitcoin Mining: HIVE Achieves New Bitcoin Mining Goal in Paraguay

HIVE Digital Technologies has successfully completed the second expansion phase of its large-scale project in Yguazú, Paraguay, surpassing a key milestone. With an installed computing power of over 18 exahashes per second (EH/s), the company is currently producing more than 8.5 Bitcoin daily, fully powered by renewable hydropower.

The management reported that the infrastructure was built significantly faster than planned. The installation of the last ASIC miners has increased the company's total capacity to 18 EH/s, and since surpassing the 17 EH/s mark, daily Bitcoin production has been over eight units. Following the completion of the second construction phase, HIVE is now producing over 8.5 Bitcoin per day.

“The stable and particularly competitive operating costs are enabled by the renewable energy source from the Itaipú Dam, the largest hydropower plant in the Western Hemisphere,” the company stated.

In parallel to the Yguazú site, the third project phase in Valenzuela is also well advanced. COO Luke Rossy mentioned that the transformers there have already been commissioned, and the installation of the ASIC systems is set to begin within weeks. This new site will have a capacity of 100 megawatts, also powered entirely by hydropower.

The management aims to have the third site fully operational by the end of November, keeping the company on track to reach its strategic expansion goal of 25 EH/s, which would correspond to about three percent of the global Bitcoin mining capacity. Based on the current network difficulty, HIVE expects a daily Bitcoin production of approximately twelve units.

In terms of cost efficiency, the Bitmain S21+ Hydro miners planned for Phase 3 have already been fully paid for and are partially on-site. The remaining devices are expected to arrive throughout the month. The electricity costs, which constitute the largest part of ongoing expenses, only increase proportionally to the computing power used, while additional personnel costs are minimal due to the largely automated commissioning of the devices.

HIVE's strategic dual focus remains on long-term value creation through disciplined growth and lean structures. The business model, which includes both Bitcoin mining and a growing cloud business in high-performance computing (HPC), allows for additional revenue through GPU-based infrastructure for applications in artificial intelligence, complementing the core mining business.

In summary, HIVE Digital Technologies is making significant strides in sustainable Bitcoin mining, with ambitious plans to expand its capacity and maintain operational efficiency.

Wow I gotta say this HIVE thing sounds super cool like 8.5 Bitcoin a day that's insane but how come Cango is claiming they produced 663.7 in just one month wouldn't that mean they mine way more? Plus not sure what hydropower means really but sounds good for saving the enviroment, right? ?
Honestly, I think it’s super interesting how HIVE is pushing the envelope on sustainable mining with all that hydropower. We hear so much about the eco-impact of Bitcoin mining these days, and it’s refreshing to see a company actually taking the steps to do something about it. That daily production of over 8.5 Bitcoin is just wild! But, I gotta say, the numbers from Cango really got me scratching my head. How on earth are they mining so much more with a hash rate that’s not that far off from HIVE's? Like, 663.7 Bitcoins in a month is insane, and it makes me wonder if they're just in a different league when it comes to efficiency or if they've got some juicy tech we don’t know about yet.

Plus, let’s talk about this hydropower nonsense. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I like that it’s better for the environment and all, but isn’t it a little crazy that they can generate so much power while other places are still stuck relying on fossil fuels? It feels like one of those uphill battles that makes me wonder if we’ll see more companies moving to greener solutions soon.

And how about that third phase HIVE is working on? I’m curious to see how that goes. If everything is running smoothly, they might really hit that goal of 25 EH/s! That’s super ambitious and exciting. A mix of mining and cloud computing sounds like a solid plan too. It’ll be interesting to see if their growth will actually sustain itself or if it’ll be just another flash in the pan.

Overall, I think both companies are showcasing different sides of the mining industry, but the real question is: can HIVE keep up this green momentum against the more traditional players like Cango? Time will tell, I guess!
It's really interesting to see how HIVE is leveraging hydropower for mining! It might make a big difference in terms of sustainability in the crypto world. But yeah, Cango's numbers seem crazy high – I wonder how they manage that while HIVE is touting their eco-friendly approach. Both companies seem to be going in different directions, but it’s essential for the industry to find that balance between profit and environmental impact!

Let’s see!
Hey everyone, just read this and I gotta say like wow, HIVE is kinda blowing my mind here with the whole green bitcoin mining thing in Paraguay! I mean 8.5 Bitcoin a day from hydropower sounds super cool and eco-friendly! But then I saw that Cango is claiming to mine 663.7 Bitcoin in just one month which is also huge, like, how do they even do that? Is it like they have some magic or something?

Also, I don't get why they can produce so much more than HIVE if they both are mining Bitcoin but with diffent tech? I thought all miners needed to use similar amount of energy or something but clearly that’s not the case here? Maybe it’s just their tech is better or whatever? I’m not sure if the whole hydropower deal means they have less costs or what, but it seems smater than those using coal or oil but is there any proof that it's actually saving the planet?

And also, like, if they can build these massive setups so quickly, that’s pretty impressive, right? Makes me think how fast tech is evolving, I mean at this rate, are we gonna be mining Bitcoin in our backyards soon? Anyway, super curious about the future of all this green mining and how it might change things in the crypto world! Anyone else think it’s kinda wild?
